  9. WHAT IS PRECEDENT?
  10. ------------------
  11. PRECEDENT ver 1.00 is a simple and effective 
  12. program written by a lawyer to help busy 
  13. lawyers.  It is a database which allows 
  14. lawyers to enter, view, search and print 
  15. indexes to their precedents (copies of 
  16. documents prepared by the lawyer and kept 
  17. for future reference eg contracts, leases 
  18. etc). The program helps lawyers find their 
  19. precedents fast.

  21. The program is easy to use  There are help 
  22. screens and a manual is provided - see PRE.DOC.  
  23. The manual explains step by step how to get 
  24. started. The program is based on a straightforward 
  25. manual system that worked very well for decades 
  26. before the coming of computers ie the system 
  27. has proved itself.

  29. PRECEDENT VERSION 1.00 is SHAREWARE.  
  30. This means you are free to copy it and 
  31. give it to others.  However if you decide 
  32. to use the program a once off registration 
  33. fee of $30 (Thirty US Dollars) is payable.  
  34. Registration details appear in the program 
  35. and the manual.
